Corina’s session will introduce attendees to the TakeCHARGE Campaign: 5 Steps to Safer Health Care, the nationwide annual public awareness program devised and launched by Pulse in 2020. TakeCHARGE teaches individuals how to take five basic actions that will help improve the safety of their interactions with healthcare systems. It has been adopted and promoted by The Joint Commission and major medical institutions.

TakeCHARGE uses two main channels to reach the public: social media, and in-person meetings and events conducted by TakeCHARGE Ambassadors — instructors trained and authorized to teach the 5 Steps to general audiences as well as patient advocates.

Corina will demonstrate how becoming a TakeCHARGE Ambassador can help new professional patient advocates kick-start their practices, and provide a powerful new educational tool for those already qualified.

She will be joined at the conference by other prominent figures in the field, including keynote speakers Susan Edgman-Levitan and Dr. Gordy Schmidt, “ageing icon” Caryn Isaacs, Teri Frykenberg, and L. Bradley Schwartz among others. The conference will address topics ranging from financial and business issues to conflict resolution to the science behind empathy, and more.
