About Us

OUR MISSION: Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy (Pulse CPSEA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness about patient safety through advocacy, education and support.

VISION: At Pulse CPSEA, our vision is to create a world where the patient's voice is heard and where no one is harmed by health care.

VALUES: In our interactions with patients, families and communities, Pulse CPSEA upholds these values: effective communication, respect, diversity, accountability, honesty, teamwork, compassion, and above all, safety.

OUR HISTORY: Since 1996, Pulse CPSEA has educated the public about patient safety. Through our advocacy training, we empower patients, their families, and friends to partner with their healthcare providers, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes in medical care.

At Pulse, we define “advocate” broadly, as including not only professional patient advocates, but anyone who assists and supports a person receiving medical care.
