Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy’s annual Patient Safety Symposium and Family-Centered Patient Advocacy (FCPA) training starts in just a week.
Pulse is one of the nation’s leading patient safety educational organizations, at the forefront of grassroots community-based advocacy since 1996.
The intensive two-day event will start Thursday, March 26 and will be held in Westbury, NY. It will include a varied roster of speakers who are leaders in the patient safety movement, including
• Juan A. Contreras, CPXP, Director of Patient & Customer Experience, Northshore University Hospital Northwell Health on “The Patient Experience”
• Yosef Dlugacz, PhD, retired Senior Vice President, Chief of Clinical Quality, Education and Research, of Northwell Health, on "Bridging the Divide: Reimagining Patient Advocacy for a Safer Future"
• Bruce Hirsch, MD, FACP, FIDSA, AAHIVS, on "Vaccinations and What You Need to Know"
Current and aspiring patient advocates will also receive Pulse’s signature Family-Centered Patient Advocacy Training (FCPA), a kind of boot camp imparting the basic skills and knowledge needed to be a successful patient safety advocate.

Attendees will receive a certificate of completion and can be included as accredited advocates in Pulse’s website directory. Additionally, all FCPA graduates become part of Pulse’s “FCPA Alumni” program, which provides ongoing connection, networking and support.
