Recognize personal implicit biases that impact clinical interactions. 4. Demonstrate cultural humility during intake and clinical meetings. 5. Apply inclusive practices Presenters are Tana Bhuphaibool, LMSW and Erica Forman, Community Advocate This presentation will provide a thorough review of common terminology fundamental to providing respectful advocacy & care to transgender persons. Discussions will explore numerous aspects of ‘misgendering’ patients and routine situations that may cause discomfort or a loss of trust between transgender persons and their medical team and/or caregivers. Presenters will also identify specific programs created for the transgender community in NY and review several case studies to emphasize and use new advocacy skills & information appropriately. – This course will provide ONE J.E.D.I. CE credit upon completion.
